Chandigarh Police was reorganized on 1st November,
1966. The first chief of Chandigarh Police was Shri V. K. Kalia, SSP.
The post of IGP was created in 1981 and 16 IGPs have been appoint till
date. Presently Shri R. P. Upadhyaya, IPS, is the Inspector General of
Police.
Chandigarh Police nvites
application from candidates qualified in relevant fields for
contractual basis in total 94 Constable Vacancies and selected
candidates on their appointment as Constable can be deployed in any unit
of Chandigarh Police.

Selection Procedure
- Selection will
be based on performance in Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical
Measurement Test (PMT), Written Test, Driving Test & Interview .
- Physical
Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Measurement Test (PMT) will
tentatively start in the month of February, 2014 in Police Lines, Sector
26, Chandigarh followed by Written Test, Driving Test & Interview.

Application Procedure
- The fee is Rs.200/- for all candidates.
- Candidates
can be paid application fees through original Bank Draft of
Rs.200/- in favour of Section Officer/Accounts, UT Police Hqrs. Payable
at Chandigarh.
- Application
should be made Online. Candidates need to register ONLINE by Nov 15
along with all required details mentioned carefully.
- After
submission of online application send the hard copy of online
application along with copy of SC Certificate (Self Attested) and
original Bank Draft on or before Nov 31, 2013 by registered post.
